I am given to understand that the post of Principal Civil Medical Officer, Ceylon, may possibly be vacant in the near future. I have the honour to request that His Excellency will be kind enough to forward and favourably recommend this application for the post to the Right Honourable the Secretary of State for the Colonies for his most favourable consideration.
I have been in practice in the Tropics for 29 years and possess in addition to the ordinary qualifications & diploma in public health.
I have been in the Government service since June, 1896. I have acted as Principal Civil Medical Officer of this Colony for various periods, amounting to upwards of 24 years.
I beg most respectfully to request that the Right Honourable the Secretary of State may be graciously pleased to consider this application in as favourable a light as possible.
